Biomass heating at Continental Fireplaces
Continental Biomass is here to provide you all the information you need to design, install, approve and maintain your Biomass heating requirements. Wood Biomass in Pellet or Chip is a sustainable, virtually CO2 neutral fuel. This means that our reliance of fossil fuels such as gas, coal & oil can be reduced if not eliminated. Continental Fireplaces are Fully MES approved and are able to provide you with all the information you need to obtain RHI (Renewable Heat Incentive) payments.
Due to Government's legally binding emissions targets that are outlined in The Climate Change Act 2008, require the UK's greenhouse gas emission to be reduced to 25% below levels recorded in 1990 by 2017, there are incentives available for the installation and continued use of sustainable fuels to heat both domestic and commercial settings.
The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) is a government funded scheme to encourage the use of sustainable products and fuels. The commercial RHI has been in place since November 2011 and the domestic is to be introduced early 2014, designed with the aim to payback the cost of the initial investment in the technology and to continue to pay for 7 to 20 years depending on the application.
