Full installation

The livery on our fleet of metallic grey vehicles describes Continental as a “Specialist Contractor with a Showroom” and this statement emphasizes the importance given to the pursuit of excellence by our installation team. Unlike many of our competitors who rely on sub-contract tradesmen, we cover the majority of skills within our own workforce, leaving normally only electrical work requiring outside assistance.

A high level of cover is maintained to ensure that both our customers property and our own employees are protected during the course of all installation projects. Starting with £5million of Public Liability cover, our vehicles, equipment, trailers and telescopic chimney access platforms all included in our comprehensive policy. The Process

Free Survey

Upon request an appointment will be made for one of our qualified engineers to visit your property to conduct a survey and discuss the project you are considering. We make sure that the appliance you are considering is suitable and can offer advice on setting and style making sure the perfect appliance is specified.

Technical Aspects

The survey form is a detailed document from which our quotation for the works will be calculated. You will be asked to check and sign the document to ensure that we have perfectly understood your requirements. Bespoke designs such as stone surrounds to brick inglenooks will be designed to fit the client brief as well as the requirements for the room, to make sure that our quote will reflect the desired finish.

Choosing the perfect fire

With the huge selection of heating appliances on the market it is sometimes hard to narrow them down. We will measure the volume of air required to be heated to ensure the heating capacity of the appliance fulfils your demands – this will take into consideration the degree of insulation of the property and the number of doors & windows in the room. Also, with so many appliances to choose from we will narrow the search to the most appropriate appliance for both design and efficiency.

Entire Installation

Our team aim to complete most installation processes over two days. Day 1 starts with dust sheets being laid around the work area, and then preparation of the opening required for the new fire or stove. Day 2 normally involves fitting the appliance, chimney connection and specialist plaster finish around the fireplace. Our Installation team have years of experience and are able to discuss additions and alterations to the design throughout the process to ensure the highest level of finish is achieved.

Final Touches

The finished visual aspect of every installation is given the highest priority, whether it is the precise positioning of a surround, the quality of plastering finish or the exact placement of logs and embers inside a gas fire, we recognise all contribute to ensuring total customer satisfaction.

Annual Service Plans

Every appliance needs specialist attention periodically to keep it in tip-top working order. Our gas engineers make sure that every gas appliance installed by us is serviced and encourage solid fuel users to annually check gaskets and seals are in perfect working order in advance of each heating season.
